The 2016 Contractor’s Choice Awards came off as a huge success for Case Construction Equipment after three of their machines were recognized in the event organized Roads & Bridges magazine. The Case M-Series won bronze in the bulldozers category, while the Case N-Series took bronze in the backhoe category, and then finally, bronze was awarded to the Case 885B AWD motor grader in the motor graders category.
The M-series features five models that range from 92 to 214 horsepower with operating weights from 21,500 lb. to 48,800 lb. These dozers are also the only units exclusively backed up by a fuel-efficient SCR technology, which makes the engine run at peak performance for longer stretches. Meanwhile, the M-series’innovative hydrostatic transmission is able to deliver the force and drawbar that’s needed in order to move more materials, but with better fuel-efficiency.
On the other hand, the Case 885B impressed with its improved steering and side draft control, along with what Case is saying an all-wheel drive which increases the efficiency of the machine’s operation in wet and muddy conditions. The 885B’s overall performance upgrade should make the powerhouse truck more adaptable to ditching, heavy-blading, and snow removal applications. In addition, the new Case 885B comes with a more ergonomic design that offers great visibility and convenient access to the controls and instrumentations.
The Tier 4 Final series also took center stage in the backhoes category, thanks to its well-balanced design and increased power. Additionally, the N Series controls are simplified with adjustable pilot control towers, a control pattern selector, and adjustable wrist rests. An adjustable SmartClutch lets operators customize the feel of forward-to-reverse transitions (smooth, moderate or aggressive) to their preference.
The voting for the equipment took place a few months before it was completed, and rightfully so, these three workhorses among many others got a well-deserved award from Road & Bridges subscribers.
